Search Engine Indexing
itcserver.com is like a new born baby in web world. It needs attention and love. The people of the web world should take care of it with intensive love; so it can live for a long time and be happy in this world. What am I saying? Is it the beginning of a science finction story? I mean that itcserver.com must be visited by people who are interested in it’s topics and articles. But how? The most impressive and powerful method is search engines. Simply go to a search engine type some keywords in it, and then it should be come up in front of the user. Search engines have to recognize it. It means it should be indexed by search engines periodically. So users can see current information on it. The more visitors have; the longer and healthier life for itcserver.com.
Search engines: Google, Yahoo, MSN are three leader players in this arena. Google is very famous in nowadays.
Ping services are other indexing tool for blogs.
So I had to show all web world that there is a new born baby “itcserver.com” here, it is going to be grown up and become a professional website. Please take care of it, give a place for it in your servers. As far as I know only Blogger is familiar with blog.itcserver.com. I don’t know how became really fast familiar with it. But no any other big brothers (google, yahoo, msn, technorati) recognize it. Since there is no easy way to reach my blog, I am also still wondering how Andrew Kantor found my blog and left a comment.
- Ping Services for Blog
- Today I went to Ping-O-Matic which is a blog ping service. I wrote itcserver.com URL and RSS URL, and checked all services to ping. I was expecting all those services would recognize my blog eventually.
- I went to Add your URL to Google and added the URL.
- I went to my Google personal page and added my RSS URL as content. I thought it would help to be indexed by Google.
- I went to Google Sitemaps. I added it to sitemaps and even verified it as my website. But I haven’t seen any stats yet!
- Yahoo
- I went to Yahoo Submit Your Site and submitted URL for page and URL for feed.
- I went to My Yahoo and added feed URL as content.
- MSN
- I went to MSN Search URL Submission and submitted URLs.
- I went to My MSN but I could not remember my password so I skipped it.
What is the result? Actually it was said that 48 hours should be waited for indexing results by search engines and blog services.
I checked my awstat Latest Visitors to itcserver.com. I saw a lot of robots or web crawlers visited my site. Some have a reference website address. Let me write agents below:
- Feedfetcher-Google http://www.google.com/feedfetcher.html
- YahooFeedSeeker/2.0 http://publisher.yahoo.com/rssguide
- YahooFeedSeeker Testing/2.0 http://publisher.yahoo.com/rssguide

- ping.blo.gs/2.0 http://blo.gs/ping.php
- BlogSearch/1.1 http://www.icerocket.com/
It didn’t pass 48 hours yet, but results are:
Yahoo indexed itcserver.com! not blog.itcserver.com
ICEROCKET indexed blog.itcserver.com!
Technorati indexed blog.itcserver.com!
Feedster indexed blog.itcserver.com!
Blogger had already indexed blog.itcserver.com!
That’s it! Google and MSN didn’t index yet! I am surprised with Yahoo’s result. I was expecting that Google would index faster than Yahoo. Congratulations Yahoo! I am also impressed with ICEROCKET. I like it!
Let us wait for 48 hours and see what will happen! Common Google, your robots come to my site. Why don’t you index itcserver.com? Do I need to put robots.txt in my root folder?
