Welcome to SDN World

SDN WorldI think all SAP technical folks are familiar with SDN (SAP Developer Network). SDN is the most exciting job that SAP has ever made. SDN is a platform, a portal where all SAP tech people meet. You just need to sign up, then you can get a great knowledge about all SAP tech stuff. Visit forums, read blogs, downloads latest sneak preview and trial programs, watch eLearning videos, follow up events, etc.

Today actually I just don’t want to mention SDN. Today I would like to let you know about SND World. What I understood is one of the SDN bloggers Eddy De Clercq, a web application developer at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, started SDN World, then another one of the SDN bloggers Valery Silaev, a lead software engineer at the EPAM Systems, contributed his works for SDN World.

Look at SDN World! There is actually no need any explanation. SDN World shows the worldwide distribution of SDN members. It uses Yahoo Maps to show all SDN members all over the world on a world map. It is fantastic. It is very amazing to see all SDN members geographically. You can see more information about SDN World at Eddy’s blog post “From the Grumpy Old Man: Hoy en del mundo“.

If you are already an SDN member, you can just show yourself on this map. You just need Full Name, Business Card URL at SDN, Zip/Postcode, International City and County information. I added myself immediately. Each location has a number and also each member has a number, my number is 572 Tuncay Karaca.

SDN World

The population of SDN World is 620 so far. The most crowded country is India with 212 members, then United States with 132 members and then Germany, home country of SAP, with 70 members.

Turkey, my native country, has five members so far. 201 Hakan Demirbilek, 219 Hüseyin Bilgen, 487 Seyhan Gürsoy, 620 Şaban Bozbuğa in Istanbul and 484 Serdar Şimşekler in Ankara. I know Hüseyin Bilgen and Serdar Şimşekler from Ankara where we worked together in Havelsan at Turkish Airforce Project. As far as I know Serdar is still in Havelsan. Hüseyin works at FIT Consulting in Istanbul.

Himmmm. Who are there in Georgia where I live in. 356 Mohan, 319 Mark Willey, 114 Chris Harris and me. Not too much!

Common hurry join to SDN World. Welcome to SDN World!

    Hi,

Many thanks for blogging about the SDN world application. We’re nearly 1000 at the moment, but there is still plenty room on the map to fill. So for all the people who didn’t already, don’t hesitate to put yourself on the map. You get even 250 points for it.

Btw, my name is slightly misspelled. It should be Eddy De Clercq.

    Many thanks

    Eddy

  2. Tuncay Karaca Says:

    Dear Eddy,

I apologize for misspelling your name. I corrected it.

SDN is a great website itself and SDN World (I think your baby :) ) is a nice tool, it is a kind of different approach to social web.

Thank you all for wonderful job!
