What Happened at Interview for The Position in Secaucus, NJ
It’s long time I haven’t written anything. It’s time to write again! I hope I will write more frequently anymore!
Let me explain what happened “Interview for a Position in Secaucus, NJ“. There was a recruiter in this situation, recruiter from Skylights found me for the position. As I mentioned earlier I was interviewed by an SAP Consultant who works in the project. But I have never been contacted by any person from the customer side <Xcompany>. I just wrote here what e-mail conversation occurred from beginning to end between the recruiter and me.

Thank you for taking the time to interview with me for SAP ABAP Programmer Analyst position at your company <Xcompany> on Wednesday, Aug. 2nd, 2006.
I am eagerly interested in working at <Xcompany>. I visited your company website and learned that <Xcompany> is a great company to work. I want this job.
When I searched to get the information about <Xcompany> and SAP, I have found that <Xcompany> has been implementing mySAP ERP 2005, SAP for Retail, SAP AFS, and SAP Triversity and point-of-sale (POS). I have worked as an SAP ABAP Consultant in different SAP full-cycle implementation projects. I know the issues in an SAP implementation projects and ASAP methodology. There would be lots of reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms. Those are my jobs. I am also very excited to learn new things in your projects.
Thank you so much. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,

Sorry but I don’t know the person name. I just know that he is one of the SAP ABAP Developer Consultants in the project. He told me that he would recommend the right candidate to IT Manager. So if you know the IT Manager name, you can maybe refer to her.

Dear <The Recruiter>,
Sorry for the late response. I was kind of busy this week.
I thought about <Xcompany>’s face-to-face interview. I think it is a good opportunity for me. I believe <Xcompany> has been implementing a great SAP Project. Therefore, I decided to come to NJ for the interview by myself. I would pay the flight. You said it would be on Aug. 17 - 18. But I am still working on different positions and there will be face-to-face interviews next week. So I can able to come to NJ on Aug. 21 - 25. If it is okay or another date for <Xcompany>, please let me know.
Thank you,
Sincerely,Tuncay Karaca

Dear <The Recruiter>,
I’ve got your message last week. I am very sad for not hearing anything about <Xcompany>! Even I don’t still understand why they requested me to pay for face-to-face interview!
Last Friday I’ve got an offer and I accepted it. Happy end for me! I am very excited to start my SAP career again. I am currently busy to relocate to another state. So I am not in job market anymore!
Thank you for all you have done!
Sincerely,

Dear Tuncay,
Congratulations! I wish you the best of luck and lots of happiness at your new position. I’m sorry things didn’t work out with <Xcompany>, too. Thank you for all of your hard work and patience.
Congrats, again!
Sincerely,
<The Recruiter>
As you see they wanted me to go to NJ for face-to-face interview, but they also wanted me to pay the flight by myself. It sounded very strange to me! It was a permanent position, not a contract position. If it was a contract position, it might be understandable! How do they think to find a good SAP Developer without paying anything?
My company - be patient I will explain soon!
paid all expenses: face-to-face interview, flight, moving, etc…
If you think to work as permanent based, please consider the company’s approach to you.
